4-LiPHE, Inc. a Virginia not for profit corporation (”4-LiPHE” or “We”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
This policy describes (i) the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website 4-LiPHE.org (“this Website”), when you visit any other 4-LiPHE websites (collectively, this Website and our other websites are referred to as “our Websites”), when you communicate with us through any other means of communication, or when you participate in any 4-LiPHE programs, and (ii) our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.  Please check the privacy policy for any other 4-LiPHE websites for any provisions that are different than these provisions.
This policy applies to information we collect:

  • On any of our Websites (unless otherwise stated in the privacy policy for any other of our Websites).
  • In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and 4-LiPHE.
  • When you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to our Websites.
  • When you communicate with 4-LiPHE by any other means or are participating in any 4-LiPHE programs or events.
  • It does not apply to information collected by any third party (including our affiliates and third-party vendors), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Website

CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 13

Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Website or on or through any of its features/register on the Website, make any purchases through the Website, use any of the interactive or public comment features of this Website or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

We collect several types of information from and about users of our Website and those who communicate with 4-LiPHE, including information:

  • Details of transactions you carry out through our Websites. You may be required to provide financial information before placing a donation or registering through our Websites.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Websites, or transmitted to other users of the Websites or third parties including, without limitation, videos or testimonials (collectively, “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. We do not control who may be able to access and view your User Contributions.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies. As you navigate through and interact with our Website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

We may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers’ target audiences. Even though we do not disclose your personal information for these purposes without your consent, if you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, the advertiser may assume that you meet its target criteria.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

General Disclosure Provisions

We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

Disclosure of Participating Veteran Information. 

We may also disclose personal information that we have collected from veterans who have applied to participate in any 4Vets4Life program as follows:

  • To other charitable organizations for the purpose of determining if the organization can aid in facilitating providing any products or services for the benefit of the veteran relating to any Home Award, Qualified Home Improvement and/or Dream Award.
  • To actual or prospective corporate donors to secure, or attempt to secure, products or services for the benefit of the veteran relating to any Home Award, Qualified Home Improvement and/or Dream Award.

Disclosure of Donor Specific Information. 

We may also disclose personal information that we have collected from Donors as follows:

  • Personal information that we collect from Donors may be may be disclosed and used by 4-LiPPHE and third party vendors that 4-LiPHE uses to support our business and programs and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential as follows: The third party vendors may disclose your information to other charitable organizations to allow such charitable organizations to send you information about any charitable programs they are promoting for the aid and benefit of veteran if you have not opted out of receiving such notifications.

  • To audit vendors who are providing services to 4-LiPHE such as marketing or electronic payment processing.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • With your consent.

CHOICES ABOUT HOW WE USE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent.   • Promotional Offers from 4-LiPHE. If you do not wish to have your email address and other contact information used by 4-LiPHE to promote our own or third parties’ programs, products or services, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the form(s) on which we collect your data or by sending us an email stating your request to contact@4liphe.org. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions.
  • Targeted Advertising. If you do not want us to use information that we collect or that you provide to us to deliver advertisements according to our advertisers’ target-audience preferences, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the form(s) on which we collect your data or by using the opt-out or unsubscribe links in emails we send you.
  • We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (”NAI”) on the NAI’s website.

ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You may also send us an email at contact@4liphe.org to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. DATA SECURITY

We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions will be processed by a third-party processor and will be encrypted.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY
